Position Overview

Azahar Mexican Kitchen is looking for energetic, hospitality-driven bartenders to join our opening team. We're building a modern Mexican restaurant and bar focused on great service, craft cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere. We're looking for team members who are professional, organized, fast-paced, and passionate about taking care of guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and create a friendly, comfortable experience at the bar
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipe standards
  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the bar area
  • Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and communicate feedback to managers
  • Process guest payments and handle transactions accurately
  • Wash and sanitize glassware and bar tools
  • Assist with restocking liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies
  • Serve food to guests seated at the bar
  • Complete opening and closing side work
  • Follow all TABC and alcohol service guidelines
  • Support fellow bartenders, servers, and team members as needed
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant or bartending experience preferred
  • Strong communication and guest service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math and cash handling skills
  • Comfortable using POS systems
  • Professional appearance and strong hygiene habits
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • TABC Certification required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and move quickly throughout shifts
  • Comfortable working in hot, wet, loud, and fast-paced environments
